What EE Addons Do You Use Nearly Everytime?

On August 12, 2010, Jason Morehead wrote a blog post titled Is ExpressionEngine becoming too expensive?  The ensuing comments included insight from the community and EllisLab themselves, and it was mentioned that some desired features currently only available via third-party addons to become part of the core of ExpressionEngine itself.

I'm interested to find out from the community which addons they use in almost every install they do, and whether they believe that the functionality that these addons supply become a part of the core of ExpressionEngine.

I'll get the ball rolling. On nearly every install I use the following:

* Matrix
* WYGWAM
* nGen File
* Fresh Variables

I think that Matrix is an innovative product, and almost indispensable now. I'm happy to support P&T with each install, as the price is next to nothing for what it provides.

WYGWAM is simply my WYSIWYG of choice, but certainly I think that a WYSIWYG editor should be build into the system by default (I would still pay to upgrade to WYGWAM though).

nGen File. At least there's a file upload field in EE 2, so this is sortof resolved.

Fresh Variables. I've recently learned about Low Variables, so I'll probably be using this from now on, but I'm surprised that Fresh Variables isn't just a default part of EE.

Commercial
- Structure
- Wygwam
- LG Better Meta
- Playa

Free:
- Imgsizer
- FieldFrame
- LG Add Sitename
- LG Live Look
- nGen File Field
- Category Checkboxes

I realize that several of these are now in EE 2.x, but I still have a lot of sites running EE 1.6.x.

Of all of the ones above, I'd love to see something more like Structure rolled into EE. The current Pages module has always felt like a stopgap to me, like the first step towards something like Structure.

Imgsizer and nGen File Field are standard for me.

It seems the more "technologically-challenged" a client is, the more add-ons I tend to use to shield them from code and markup.

D'oh... I forgot all about Matrix. I Love that add-on.

Yeah, now that I read some others, I forgot about the little ones that make a huge difference:

* Imgsizer
* LG Add Sitename
* Category Checkboxes
* Edit Tab Ajax

As these are all free, I'd like to see them added into the core with a nod back to their respective developers. While category checkboxes and edit tab ajax are just nice to have, the first two are almost essential.

This is my almost default install:

Depends on whether it's EE 1.6.x vs 2.x, but I can't imagine doing a site without Imgsizer and Matrix in particular.

-Imgsizer
-Matrix
-P&T Field Pack
-Playa (often, but now always)

-Gypsy (like this better than native 2.x functionality that supposedly replaced it)
-Fieldframe
-nGen File Field
-Edit Tab Ajax
-Publish Tweeks

Not real thrilled with wysiwyg, so use Markdown and SmartDown often.
